A Gentle Gathering is the first textile collection by A. Vetra and manufactured by Tessitura la Colombina.
It evokes memories of quiet times, gestures, and old rituals, reminding us of the importance of re-setting our values through simplicity and familiarity.
The truthful beauty of rural memories and their slow rhythm bring people together, embracing them in a warm and intimate atmosphere.
These blankets and cushions are slow objects, handmade using wool yarns chosen from a forgotten archive. The making of each piece goes through manual and slow processes, where ancient restored handlooms weave following the body’s pace: expert, immersive and repetitive gestures leave a trace of imperfection that makes every artifact authentic and unique.
With the warm hues of an earthy palette, the collection describes the traditional checkerboard motif, organized in a textured grid play where the dense and soft mohair blocks are gently framed by relief lines, and placed on a rough and primitive wool surface. Simple in aesthetic but rich in tactility and made with a sophisticated method of manufacture.

*A. Vetra is a project by Giulia Ferraris, an Italian product and textile designer based between Northern Italy and Amsterdam. Deeply inspired by her Mediterranean roots, she flows freely within a multidisciplinary body of work, ranging from clay to natural fibers.
